Located just outside Waterton Lakes National Park (a UNESCO World Heritage Site), this river winds its way through the foothills of southern Alberta. The trails and river bottom are home to incredible wildlife and some of the most picturesque views that you’ll ever see. Lee Creek Golf Course is a great spot to sneak away for some quality time with a loved one. This beautiful Les Furber designed course will take your breath away. Summer is a time when things really heat up in the arts and culture scene in Cardston. Each July and August Carriage House Theatre puts on some spectacular shows, drawing from some great talent throughout western Canada. It is common for Carriage House Theatre to have a rotation of 3 or 4 shows playing each summer, which means you should have some solid date night options while in town. If you’re in Cardston during the offseason then don’t worry, the Carriage House Theatre doubles as a movie theatre when it isn’t offering live theatre performances. Boasting arguably the best view of Chief Mountain, Police Outpost Provincial Park is the perfect place for a sunset paddle. During the right time of the year, you can see some very impressive birds at Police Outpost Lake. If paddling isn’t your thing, consider doing one of the great hikes in the park. The Remington Carriage Museum is the perfect place to stop with your significant other. Open year round, this largely indoor attraction is a great place to visit during inclement weather.
