St. Mary Reservoir Provincial Recreation Area

St. Mary Reservoir is a fun place to swim, sail, windsurf, water ski, canoe, and fish. There are a total of three campgrounds at St. Mary Reservoir Provincial Recreation Area. Walley’s Beach, along the east side of the reservoir, has plenty of space for swimmers and beach bums alike. The best time to visit Walley’s Beach is when the water levels are high, from May to mid-July. In August, the waterline can recede by several hundred feet, making the shoreline muddy and hard to access. There is an interpretive loop trail that is perfect for those looking for a short hike.
